The first two or four inches of rain that fell last weekend was welcome but in some areas it didn’t quit. Nine inches fell north of Firesteel, sending Firesteel Creek out of its banks and causing flood damage to roads, homes and crops. At Timber Lake, the official rainfall from Thursday to Saturday was 4.16 inches, pushing the year-to-date precipitation to 21.57 inches, about 7 inches above normal.
