Ruth Loraine Anderson was born October 16, 1928, on the family farm near Glad Valley, to Harry and Helen Anderson. She grew up on the farm outside of Glad Valley and was the third of eleven children. She attended a one-room country school about 3.5 miles from her home through the 8th grade, then attended high school in Isabel through the 10th grade. After that, she stayed home to help out around the farm.

Ruth met Reinhold “Rhinie” Roesler at a dance in Isabel shortly after he came back from the service. They were married on June 2, 1947. They moved to Mobridge and were blessed with one child, a daughter, Deborah.

Ruth loved being around children and she spent 40+ years providing babysitting services to the community of Mobridge in her home, and she was lovingly known by many as “Ruthie.” After retiring from her years of babysitting at the age of 70, she enjoyed traveling with her sister-in-law, Leona Roesler.

She was a member of the United Congregational Church in Mobridge and was always willing to help when called upon. Her hobbies included gardening, canning/preserving foods, baking, making and teaching her grandchildren to make German dishes, sewing and crocheting, playing cards, spending time with and playing games with her grandchildren, and reading books.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah (Arlan) Hintz; three grandchildren: Chad (Cathy) Hintz, Brian Hintz, and Amy (Tony) Larsen: seven great-grandchildren: Chance Hintz, Cody (Layne) Hintz, Cayla Hintz, Jadon Keller, Brianna Hintz, Tyler Larsen, and Elsy Larsen, five greatgreat- grandchildren: Isabella Krumm, Anastasia and Lydia Hintz, and Beau and Coy Hintz, and her sisters: Mary Herber and Alice Hodges.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Helen Anderson; husband Rhinie Roesler; brothers: David Anderson, Clifford Anderson, and Roy Anderson; sisters, Rosella Anderson, Darlene Wahl, Gladys Zulauf, Ann Hodges, and Gertie Tomac.
