Patricia J. (Byington) Giuffre, 65, of Jacksonville, FL and formerly of Timber Lake died January 30, 2014. She was killed in a traffic accident near her home. She was born September 30, 1948 in Mobridge to Jim and Mary Byington of Timber Lake. She attended Timber Lake High School and graduated in 1967. She worked at the Timber Lake Topic, and Prairie Stationers, which were both owned by her parnets. Pat and her family were members of the Episcopal Church that held services in the First Baptist Church building in Timber Lake. Eventually, the Episcopal Church in Timber Lake dissolved and Pat joined the Baptist Church. In March of 1963, Pat joined Rev. Jeanie Sherman along with four other girls for a trip to Washington, DC and New York City for the annual Baptist Youth Rally. Pat taught Sunday School in the Baptist Church and was Sunday School Superintendent for many years. She sang in youth choir until she was old enough to sing in the adult choir and was a member until she moved to the Chicago area in 1983. In 1984 she married Steve Giuffre and started a family. She was a homemaker and also worked at Jewel-Osco for about five years. She volunteered at her children's school and was involved in the PTA. She was very involved in her church and dedicated herself to serving The Lord and others. She enjoyed arts and crafts, quilting, walking and shopping. She also enjoyed making connections with those around her. She was known for always remembering birthdays and sending cards for all events. She was a selfless, kind, and gentle individual who was always thinking of others. She is survived by her son, Steven Elden Giuffre, Jr. of Wheaton, IL; her daughter, Sharon Jean Giuffre and granddaughter Marilynne Jean Humphrey-Sewell in Viriginia; and her brother, James Byington and his family of Lisle, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Steven, in 2011. A memorial service was held Saturday, February 8 at Wheaton Wesleyan Church in Wheaton. Interment was at Wheaton Cemetery.
