Ramsey McKee Adair, 83, of Hysham, MT passed away on Monday, February 3, 2014. The funeral was held Monday, February 10, 2014. Ramsey was born on May 21, 1930 to James R.M. and Anna (Riemath) Adair in Yankton. The family moved to Firesteel where Ramsey spent his early boyhood until they moved to Timber Lake. He attended Timber Lake School from 5th grade until he graduated in 1948. He married LaVon Badure in Timber Lake on September 14, 1958. Ramsey worked at the Firesteel Coal Mine and then for Moreau-Grand Electric Co-op until he was drafted into the Army. He worked for Mid-Yellow Electric Coop for 35 years in Hysham, MT. Ramsey was very involved in his community, serving as mayor, and as a member of American Legion, VFW, the 15th Infantry Regiment Association, Lions Club and Hysham Masonic Lodge No. 129. He was very proud of his military service, having served in combat in Korea. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal and the Republic of Korean War Service Medal. He was devoted to the Community Presbyterian Church. Ramsey loved to reminisce about his youth in Firesteel and Timber Lake and made frequent trips “home” for celebrations and reunions. Ramsey is survived by his wife, LaVon; brother Jim (Cornelia) Adair; sister Beatrice Burch; Adair nephews Jim and Randy; and many Badure nieces and nephews.
