Piece of Main Street history demolished

If walls could talk... this old building on Timber Lake’s Main Street could tell some stories. A bank until the 1930s, it was later a cafe and bar under several different ownerships.

One of the oldest structures on Timber Lake’s Main Street was demolished over the weekend to make way for a new business. The former Dakota Landmark, which started out as Stockgrowers State Bank in 1910, was recently purchased by Robi and Tony Miller of Isabel. On Saturday, a crew from Miller Construction began the demolition and by Monday the building was leveled, and the old bank vault and tons of wood, concrete and steel were hauled away.
