The Timber Lake School Board voted Monday night to purchase two Governor’s Houses from the S.D. Housing Authority to rent to school employees. The 24’ x 42’ house is all-electric.

The Timber Lake School Board, with some help from the Timber Lake City Council and Timber Lake & Area Development, expects to have two Governor’s Houses ready to rent to teachers by July 1. The houses will cost $35,500 each; other associated costs, such as moving, utilities, floor coverings and appliances, will bring the total project budget to about $120,000, according to Supt. Jarod Larson.
