Joseph Walter Schlosser, 72, of Moorcroft, WY died Monday, May 5, 2014 at Crook County Memorial Nursing Home in Sundance, WY. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2 p.m., Friday, May 9, 2014 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Sturgis with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at St. Aloysius Cemetery in Sturgis. Arrangements are under the care of Fidler-Roberts and Isburg Funeral Chapel of Sundance. Joe was born February 1, 1942 to Adam and Margaret (Werlinger) Schlosser at Timber Lake. He was raised in the Timber Lake area and graduated from Timber Lake High School in 1960. Joe worked road construction in North and South Dakota, Montana, Minnesota and Colorado. He worked with Kumerfield, Fuller, Means and Morris Construction. Joe and his partner Willis Morris started S & M Construction, where he worked until starting his own business. He ran Joe’s Oilfield Service for 27 years, before health issues forced him to retire. He also owned the Branding Iron Bar & Café. Joe especially loved rodeos, his grandkids and his great-grandkids. He married Waynita Yates in Rawlins, WY on June 30, 1968. To this union four children were born— Margaret, Jody, Robert and Melissa. Joe is survived by his wife Waynita of Moorcroft; two daughters, Marge Schlosser of Killdeer, ND and Jody (Les) Sisson of Moorcroft; one son Robert Schlosser of Gillette, WY; grandchildren— Jeff (Amanda) Wells, Ashley Wells, Brandon Wells and great-grandsons— Caden and Danny and Braydon Wells, Brandon Wells; two sisters, Bernice Kari of Meadow and Dorothy (Michael) Fisher of Faith; numerous nieces and nephews and special family friend, Dena Gonzales. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers— Tony, Wayne, Bill, Larry and Jim, and an infant daughter.
