John Patrick Burns, 85, of Washington was born in Timber  Lake and graduated from Timber Lake High School in 1947. He moved to Colorado for a year, then enlisted in the Navy for 4 years. After completing his military service he lived in Parker, CO and worked as a sales  representative for about 25 years. He then changed jobs and worked for the U.S. Postal Service until retirement. Pat enjoyed his horses, roping, and riding Colorado mountain trails. Golf was his passion and he was very competitive. Pat lived in Arizona for 11 years. When his Parkinson’s disease progressed he and his wife moved
to Washington State to be close to family. Pat is survived by his wife of 21 years Dorothy; his stepsons Greg (Terri) Orvella, Rick (Sandie) Orvella, and Bobby (Noelle) Orvella; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great- grandchild; and many nieces and nephews. Pat was preceded in death by his parents, Audrey (Cramer) Burns and Peter M. Burns; brothers Tom, Robert and Pete Burns; and a sister, Cay Christensen. A service with military honors will be held Friday, October 10, 2014 at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA. Remembrances may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research or a charity of choice. Arrangements are made by Edline- Yahn & Covington Funeral Chapel. (Dorothy Burns’ address is 24104 221st Ln.
