Principal housing? Yes — and better pay for teachers too

School-owned housing for the principal? Why not? With the competition that schools face in hiring talented teachers and administrators, all options should be considered. Timber Lake Supt. Jarod Larson is proposing that the school district purchase a three-bedroom Governor’s House to have ready for recruiting a principal when the time comes. The present K-5 Principal, Terry Stulken, has not indicated any plans for the 2015-2016 school year, but he does have a strong pull to the southeast corner of the state, where his family, including a precious grandchild, reside. Larson wants to be ready when Stulken decides to return to retirement. Hence the idea of another house.
