Timber Lake scored 44 points in the first quarter and added 22 in the second to steamroll McLaughlin 66-8 in non-conference football action on October 16. The game was halted at halftime when officials invoked the "mercy rule," which states that if a team leads by 50 points or more at halftime, the game will be ended. The win lifted the Panthers to 4-3 on the season while McLaughlin, riding the first two-game win streak in recent memory, fell to 2-6.
