Several months ago the City of Timber Lake was contacted by a development company investigating the feasibility of building a Family Dollar Store in Timber Lake. There were no official requests at that time. Discussion surfaced again at the council’s regular meeting on Monday night, when Dale LaCompte of Timber Lake spoke to the council. LaCompte said he had been leasing the property that Family Dollar Store is interested in and he had recently taken five of the six lots in Block 5 out of trust.

The property is between Highway 20 and Tenth Street, east of the city park and west of the Biegler and Herman properties in Block 4. LaCompte said there is one more lot that is still in trust. That is Lot 3 in the southeast corner of the block, the proposed site for the building.
