Is fiber internet access in Timber Lake’s future?

At a meeting in Timber Lake on April 12, Mona Thompson, general manager of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe Telephone Authority, and Mark Shlanta, CEO of SDN, gave a preview of how internet via fiber optic cable might expand in Timber Lake.

“We’re here to start a discussion with the community of Timber Lake and this exchange area,” Thompson said. “This is the first meeting. There may be more.”

The first half of the meeting was devoted to Thompson’s power point presentation on CRSTTA and its Fiber to the Home (FTTH) project, the benefits of fiber for delivering internet service, and how the service might be brought to Timber Lake.
