Frazier: No welcome for Keystone

We will be waiting.” The above line was the one-sentence response letter from Cheyenne River Sioux Chairman Harold Frazier to TransCanada Corp. on Friday. Frazier was replying to a July 11 letter from TransCanada Sr. Manager of Indigenous Relations Nadine Busmann, who wrote that the Keystone XL pipeline project will begin this month and continuing through the fall to move materials and prepare for construction-related sites in Montana and South Dakota. The project has been contested since it was proposed 10 years ago and it’s current proposed route would skirt the southernmost tip of Ziebach County, crossing the Cheyenne River near Bridger.
