Wild horse organization moves from Lantry after benefactor sells ranch and sues for back rent

The International Society for the Protection of Mustangs and Burros has lost its former headquarters after the ranch near Lantry was sold and the land’s former owner sued ISPMB and its president, Karen Sussman.

The non-profit ISPMB and Sussman were the subject of a 2016 intervention from the State Veterinarian and Dewey and Ziebach counties when the herds of horses with wild heritage grew to over 800 in number. The animals were affected by malnourishment and other health problems.
