The Dewey County Commissioners appointed a parttime deputy states attorney at their November 8 meeting. State’s Attorney Steve Aberle requested the appointment of Evan Hoel, who is opening a law practice in Timber Lake. Aberle said there would be no additional cost to the county because he would reduce his salary and benefits by 25% and make that amount available for Hoel (rhymes with Noel). Bar and counties and cities. Hoel, originally from St. Paul, MN, graduated from the USD Law School in May, took the Bar exam in July, and received notice that he had passed in September.
