City plans to lease broadband business while sale is pending

The Timber Lake City Council is taking steps to sell the city-owned broadband business, as directed by the voters in a special election held Nov. 6.

The council is awaiting approval from the USDA, which provided grant funding for the initial project.

At the council’s Dec. 3 meeting, a letter to USDA Field Rep. Patrick Hemen was reviewed and approved. In the letter, Finance Officer Karla Nordyke answered questions submitted by Hemen on August 13.
