City continues to wrestle with broadband issues

In its next-to-last meeting before the new Town Board is seated, the Timber Lake City Council heard updates on familiar topics, including Timber Lake Broadband, on April 10.

TLB CEO Ryan Farlee presented an update as requested by the council. Regarding the sale of the city-owned enterprise, he said he has the inventory list the USDA’s Rural Utilities Service has requested before approving the sale. City voters mandated the sale of TLB in a November 2018 special election but the council has yet to get the green light from RUS.

“I have the same list they have,” Farlee said. “I made it for them.”

He quoted values of the devices, some of which are obsolete, and said he would be sending the information in a letter to the RUS.

“I’m struggling to word it ethically and professionally,” he said.
