The Isabel Town Board met in special session Monday, April 22 to address a short agenda.

Business owners Brandon Heck and Joe Locken were present to participate in discussion about the town establishing a tax increment financing (TIF) district.

Trustee Ryan Maher said he had been in contact with the town’s attorney Shane Penfield, and that he advised that the Central SD Enhancement District would help Isabel with the project if Dewey County becomes a member of the CSDED. The town board voted at the regular April meeting to pay their portion of the membership fee plus some additional if the county joins.

The board passed a motion to hold a public hearing about the TIF district, the next step in the process, for Tuesday, May 7 at 7 p.m.
