Timber Lake city limits include rodeo grounds

At the Timber Lake City Council meeting on April 9, Finance Officer Karla Nordyke reported that recently-discovered county records had revealed that Lots 8 and 9, which includes the rodeo grounds, had been annexed into the city limits in 1950. The lots had been sold by Dewey County to the City in 1946 for $600. The property was sold to the county in December, 2018 to become the site of a new county highway shop.

There is no taxable property in the area but since the rodeo grounds is in the city limits, the Timber Lake Rodeo Association will not need a county license for alcohol sales during the rodeo as it already has a city license.
