The Timber Lake boys track team placed 6th overall in the team standings at the state Class B meet held Friday and Saturday at Howard Wood Field in Sioux Falls. The Panthers took a large contingent of competitors and yielded 27 points, plenty to get them into the top 10 and just short of the top 5.

In addition to the excellent team placement, there were a handful of new school records set by the boys as well.

Individual and Relay performances were:

Kuper Heck was 2nd overall in the 800 meter run with a time of 1:59.16, just behind winner Reggie Slaba of Hanson’s 1:58.46. Heck is the first Panther to break the two minute mark in the 800, improving the school and personal record of 2:02.21 he set at the LMC meet earlier this month.

Tucker Kraft placed 3rd in the discus throw with a toss of 160-05, good for a personal and school record. The previous record was set in ‘96 by Drew Hermes (148-10).
