Bonnie Jean Dikoff-Jacobson, 85, of Mitchell passed away on Monday, August 5, 2019 after a brief battle with cancer.

Her funeral was held at Zion Lutheran Church in Mitchell on Saturday, September 7. Graveside services were in the Onaka Cemetery the same day.

Bonnie Jean (Heck) Dikoff-Jacobson was born July 6, 1934 in Isabel to Robert and Lorraine (Gower) Heck. At the age of 1 she moved with her family to Illinois. Bonnie contracted polio at age 5 and had to learn to walk again.

Bonnie and her family moved back to South Dakota and settled near Mobridge at the end of her 8th grade year. Bonnie met her first love, Fredrick Dikoff in 1949; he visited often that winter and they played lots of cards. Bonnie’s 16th birthday was one for the books as Fred asked her to marry him, and they married a few months later on November 12, 1950 in the Congregational Church at Firesteel.

Over the next years they welcomed three wonderful boys into their family, Rodney, Terry and Todd.

On May 12 1989 Fred passed away. Bonnie lived on the farm until she moved to Onaka. In September of 1994 she moved to Mitchell after selling the ranch to Rodney.

Bonnie was a member of the singles club in Mitchell, where she met Perry Jacobson. They married on June 23, 2007 in Mitchell at Zion Lutheran Church. They enjoyed traveling and playing cards with friends and family.
