The first reading of the 2020 budget was approved at Monday’s Isabel Town Board meeting. The budget ordinance totaled $281,805 in appropriations including $193,800 for the general fund and $80,841 for the water fund. The dollar property tax levy to Dewey County is budgeted at $48,060. The second reading and adoption of the budget is slated for a special meeting on Monday, Sept. 16 at 6 p.m.

There was no activity on most of the old business items on Monday’s agenda, so the meeting was short. Finance Officer Janet Kuivenhoven told the board that personal issues would call her from the office over the next 6 weeks or so and that open office hours would be changing.
