The Timber Lake Panthers poured it on the Newell Irrigators heavy and early in a 58-8 victory Friday night in Newell that leaves TLHS 3-0 to start the football season. This week’s schedule has a homecoming game versus Potter County (1-2) in a Region 4A battle.

Sophomore running back Hank Kraft only touched the ball 6 times on offense, but he turned those touches into 261 yards and a whopping 5 touchdowns (4 rushing, 1 receiving). And as if that wasn’t impressive enough, Hank also answered the Irrigators’ only TD by returning their ensuing kickoff 80 yards for another score for 6 total touchdowns.

Kraft had already broke off three long TD runs in the opening quarter when Kedrick Martin passed to him to make it 30-0. Jayce Lawrence capped another scoring drive with a 12-yard TD run in the first.

Before halftime, Newell scored in between two more Kraft TDs and the third quarter saw the Panthers finish the game when Brady Sandquist took his only carry of the game 69 yards for a touchdown.

Timber Lake 36 15 6 0 - 58
