Timber Lake’s cross country unit ran at Split Rock Country Club Sept. 14 at the Ipswich Invite.

The race was moved from the golf course to an alternate site due to sitting water on the course. The teams ran on the sports complex and track. The races all started with 1-3 laps on the track and ended with 200m on the track. All races were run at reduced distances because of the alternate location. Boys varsity and JV were both at 2.77 miles instead of the 3.1 normal distance.

“The boys varsity had to work together as a team and push to move runners up when lead runner Beau DuBray experienced quad pain early on in the race,” Coach Donna Aberle said. “Both Ian Beyer and Caleb Bieber worked extremely hard to finish in competitive positions while Beau finished third for the team. Our pusher Ethan Farlee was also running with some pain and could not push his pace.”

The next meet is Saturday at Gettysburg.

Varsity Boys
