Dolores “LuLu” Elaine Rousseau Parsons, 84, of Sioux Falls passed away on November 6, 2019.

LuLu was born on February 24, 1935 at Cheyenne Agency to Ted and Ruth Rousseau. She grew up in the Ridgeview-Eagle Butte area with six sisters and two brothers.

During high school, she was Snow Queen in Mobridge. She also worked at Leonard’s Studio in Mobridge. After graduating from high school she met Cam Cheskey and had four children with him— Robert “Bob”, James “Jim”, William “Bill”, and Sandra “Sandy”.

Later, she moved herself and her four kids to Vermillion to pursue an education in nursing at the University of South Dakota. This resulted in a lifelong career and suited her perfectly because she always wanted to take care of others, often putting everyone else before herself.

While attending USD, she met Roger Parsons, and later they had three kids – Jeffrey “Jeff”, Michelle “Shelly”, and Jason. They eventually moved to an acreage outside of Tea, where they raised their family.
