Park equipment to be ordered by end of year for spring installation

This new playground equipment will be installed at the Timber Lake City Park in May, 2020. Fund raising is underway for additional pieces including tables and trash cans.

The plans are coming together for the new playground area at the Timber Lake City Park. Play equipment that meets the grant requirements and budget has been selected thanks to input from Timber Lake Elementary students. The play equipment will be ordered before the end of 2019. The layout of the play area has been decided and a color palette of maroon, denim, yellow, and gray has been chosen.

The play area will have a swing set with four swings for older youth and two toddler swings, a curva spinner that one to three youth can play on, a saddle spinner to sit on and spin, and the large play structure that has many climbing options and two slides. The play area will have the required safety surfacing and border which will make it safe and accessible for all.

The playground committee members (Rusty Gebhardt, Corrine Huber, Sarah Schweitzer and Tom Hermes) have been working with Dakota Playground to design the play area and plan to order the play equipment by the end of December. The committee will be able to save funds if everything is ordered and paid for in 2019 due to increasing prices in the New Year.
