LMC boys basketball tournament

After cruising past Bison in the opening round, Timber Lake had its hopes of winning a third straight Little Moreau Conference (LMC) boys basketball tournament title dashed in the quarterfinals Friday with a loss to eventual champion Lemmon. The Panthers were unable to bounce back in the consolation final on Saturday, dropping a decision to Harding County to finish in fourth place.

Timber Lake, 9-5 overall, hosts Newell on Friday and travels to Gettysburg to challenge Potter County on Saturday. The Panthers follow that with a home court matchup against North Central (Eureka-Bowdle) on Monday and head to McIntosh on Tuesday.

Timber Lake 72, Bison 17

Timber Lake was without starter Isaac Kraft, who was sidelined by illness, but his contributions weren’t needed as the Panthers claimed a lopsided first-round victory over the winless Cardinals.
