Timber Lake’s 2019-2020 hoops campaign ended Thursday, Feb. 27, with a 68-41 quarterfinal loss in the Region 8 Tournament to the Newell Irrigators, who went on to qualify for the SoDak 16.

On the strong play of leading scorer Kayden Steele, Newell ran out to an 18-6 first quarter advantage and led the rest of the way. The Irrigators were on top 36-17 at the half and outscored the Lady Panthers 18-9 in the third stanza to extend the lead to 54-26. Timber Lake struggled in the paint against Newell’s height advantage and was forced to shoot from the perimeter for most of the game.

Carlie Lawrence led a balanced Lady Panther scoring attack with 14 points while Gracie Sandquist added 12. Macey Bollinger pitched in eight points and Molly Kraft finished with seven points.
