Days of 1910 Rodeo & Celebration cancelled

The Timber Lake Rodeo Association voted Monday night to cancel the Days of 1910 Rodeo & Celebration, which is usually held the last weekend of July.

About 20 members bounced ideas and opinions back and forth for about 45 minutes before a paper ballot vote was taken. The decision was unanimous.

President Richard Gross asked for an up or down decision, not a delay.

Some of the reasons cited for the decision included:

• The event would likely lose money, perhaps as much as $40,000, because attendance would likely be down significantly due to the coronavirus and the tribal checkpoints.
