After a final negotiating session last week, the Timber Lake School Board and teachers reached agreement on a contract for the 2020-21 school year. The board approved the agreement at its regular monthly meeting last Wednesday, June 10.

The biggest change to the previous contract is a two percent - or $900 - increase in the base salary (for a first year teacher) from $45,200 to $46,100, with a $325 step payment for each year of service. In addition, salaries for extra-curricular coaches and advisors will increase two percent and if an activity ends due to school district closure, the person assigned to that activity will be paid out on a pro-rated basis rounded to the nearest week.

Also included in the new agreement is the addition of Professional Learning Community (PLC) facilitators and Education Rising Advisor to extra-curricular duties with a salary of $604 per school year.
