4-H Shooting Sports

One of the activities that Dewey County 4-H is offering is shooting sports. An introductory session was held on October 19 at Timber Lake. Elders Circle

The Timber Lake & Area Museum hosted sixth, seventh and eighth graders on October 14 when the Timber Lake Middle School observed Native American Day. At the museum, the students took part in an elder circle with (L-R) Vivian Smith, Thomas Eagle Staff, and Don Metcalf, all of White Horse area, and Hazel Red Bird of Ft. Yates, ND (NOT PICTURED). The students also learned about winter counts, Lakota language and games, and made dream catchers.
