T. Gunderson new member of city council

Tim Gunderson, who returned to his hometown last spring after being in Pierre for 25 years, is looking forward to serving the community as a member of the Timber Lake City Council. He was appointed by the council at the January meeting to fill Seat 1 in Ward 1 (the area east of Main Street).

“I want to help the community,” Gunderson said. He has some ideas he wants to present to the council, such as setting up recycling, making improvements at Little Moreau Park, and helping the elderly. He would like to see plastic, newspaper, cardboard and aluminum recycled. He said that, like his late mother (Mabel Gunderson), many older people will not ask for help but there should be a way to make help available to them for tasks they can no longer perform for themselves.
