Community donations

John Templer, president of Western Dakota Bank, presented personal donations to two local non-profit organizations on Monday. Timber Lake & Area Development received $75,000; of that amount $50,000 is to be used for Timber Lake projects and $25,000 is to go to Isabel projects. TLAD will disburse the funds for Isabel as directed by a group from the Isabel community because Isabel does not have a 501 (c) 3 community non-profit organization to receive the funds. The Timber Lake and Area Historical Society received $5000. Templer, who lives at Amarillo, TX, has owned the bank for 14 years.

By Kathy Nelson

When he had surgery a few weeks ago, doctors removed what he described as a “very, very ugly tumor with fingers coming off of it” and several feet of his colon. He was told that the tumor, about the size of a boiled egg, was ready to erupt. As it turned out, the tumor was benign but the lab testing indicated precancerous tissue.
