Street bid from Jensen Rock and Sand tentatively accepted

Jensen Rock & Sand of Mobridge submitted a bid of $293,077.90 for the Timber Lake city street improvement project, about $40,000 more than the engineer’s estimate. It was the only bid for the project, which will improve about 10 blocks of E Street and 8th Street. Todd Goldsmith of Mobridge, project engineers, suggested changing from 10 inches of gravel surfacing to 8 inches, which he estimated would reduce the cost by about $40,000 in material and excavating costs.
