Artists asked to interpret local history

The Timber Lake and Area Museum is looking for artists. The art project was envisioned years ago by the late Jim Nelson, who suggested a series of original paintings to be hung in front of the duct work in the main gallery. Together, the art pieces would tell the history of the area, especially Dewey and Corson counties, and the Cheyenne River and Standing Rock reservations.

They found it in Glad Valley, where they and one neighbor are the only residents of the town , their dog Bo is the chief of police and their orange tom cat, Klause, is the mayor. Transplanted from Mt. Vernon, OH (a town of about 40,000 near Columbus) they lived in Lemmon for three years before discovering Glad Valley, located on Highway 20 ten miles west of Isabel.
