Frances “Faye” Stradinger

Funeral services for Frances “Faye” Stradinger, 86, of Isabel will be at 10:30 a.m. MT Friday, December 13, 2019 at the Isabel Baptist Church. Interment will be in Hillview Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Visitation will be Thursday, December 12, 2019 beginning at 4 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. MT at the church. Frances passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2019 at Mobridge Regional Hospital.

Helen Petersen

Helen D. Petersen, 92, of Black Hawk died on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at the Oahe Haven Care Center in Gettysburg.

She was born August 4, 1927 to Jacob and Dorthea Balliet at the family farm near Trail City.

Helen graduated from McLaughlin High School, where she was a boarding student. After high school she was a teacher at the Fisher School and later at the Beaver School, both in Corson County.

Frederick F. “Freddie” LeBeau

Frederick F. “Freddie” LeBeau

Frederick F. “Freddie” LeBeau, 97, of Eagle Butte passed away Monday, December 2, 2019 at Medicine Wheel Village in Eagle Butte.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. MT on Friday, April 17, 2020 at Black Hills National Cemetery, Sturgis.

Frederick Felix LeBeau was born to Johnson and Eudora (Traversie) LeBeau in a log cabin at the mouth of the Moreau River on July 6, 1922. He completed his high school education and then entered the United States Navy on August 28, 1942 in Aberdeen. Freddie served during World War II on the U.S.S. Rainier. He was honorably discharged on December 15, 1945.

Burt Allen Bridges

Funeral services for Burt Bridges, 55, of Isabel were held December 6, 2019 at the Isabel Community Center under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge.

Burt passed away Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Sanford Medical Center in Bismarck, ND.

Burt Allen Bridges was born February 10, 1964 in Onida to William E. and Cecilia A. (Sack) Bridges. He grew up there and graduated from high school in Onida in 1982. A day after graduation, Burt joined the Army, where he was involved in the operation of heavy machinery serving in South Korea. He was active in the Army for 4 years and reserves for 2 years.

Winnie Ward

Winnie Ward, 90, of rural Timber Lake passed away Friday, November 29, 2019 at her home.

A prayer service will be held Friday, December 6 at 6 p.m. MT at United Parish Church in Timber Lake. Visitation will begin at 5:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 7 at 10:30 a.m. MT at the church. Interment will be at the Timber Lake Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. A luncheon will be served at the St. Joseph Center.

Winnie Delores Rasmussen was born to Hans and Sophia Kirstine (Hoyer) Rasmussen on May 24, 1929 in Escatawpa, MS. When she was 5 years old her family moved to Moss Point, MS.

Winnie was 16 years old when she came to South Dakota by bus/train to stay with her uncle Chris Hoyer for the summer, on his farm north of Timber Lake. That is where she first met Ken Ward, whose parents were neighbors to Chris. Winnie returned to South Dakota for two summers.

Nellie Nado

Nellie Christina Nado, 94, died October 10, 2019. Her Funeral Mass was held October 19, 2019 at St. Henry Church in Gresham, OR.

Nellie was born in Timber Lake to Chris and Marietta Johnson on March 27, 1925. After moving to Salem, OR during World War II, she attended Oregon State University for two years and qualified as a lab technician. She worked at hospitals in Sioux City, IA and in Salem.

In 1948, she met and fell in love with Glenn Nado and they were married on August 8, 1948. They celebrated their 71st anniversary earlier this year.

Gary Lane Skjoldal

The funeral service for Gary Skjoldal, 61, of Lemmon was held November 23, 2019 at the New Hope Worship Center in Lemmon. Burial was in Greenhill Cemetery at Lemmon. Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Lemmon was in charge of arrangements.

Honorary casketbearers included Kenny Erlenbusch, Mike Riedy, Mark Peterson, the Seim Family, Doug Butler, and all of Gary’s friends and relatives. Active casketbearers were Jim Traversie, Doug Ham, Russ Nelson, Tom Powers, Loren Lensegrav, and Nathan and Paul Skjoldal.

Gary Lane Skjoldal was born on September 19, 1958 in Elgin, ND to Haakon “Henry” and Vera Nelson Skjoldal. He attended grade school at North Lemmon School and went to Lemmon High School. He had very special memories of friends made in and out of school that he carried with him for a lifetime. He loved making music with his friends, nature and ranch life.
