Kerry Jay Bader

Kerry Jay Bader, 38, of Pierre died April 26, 2020.

He was born, along with his twin brother Kevin, to Lori (Yogi) Wishard Jewett and Boyce Bader on May 30, 1981 in Pierre.

He attended Buchanan Elementary School and T.F. Riggs High School. Upon graduation he moved to Lennox and went to work for Overhead Door Company of Sioux Falls. Later, he returned to Pierre and worked for CHS Midwest Co-op, then for Overhead Door Company of Pierre.

In 2014, he became co-partner in the All Pro Garage Door Company. He took pride in creating and driving the truck for the All Pro Garage Door award-winning parade floats. In December 2019, he began working for Hanson Lawn Care Services.

Mary Lou Schanzenbach

Mary Lou Schanzenbach, 84, of McLaughlin passed away April 9, 2020 at Sanford Medical Center in Bismarck, ND. Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge is in charge of arrangements.

Mary was born December 22, 1935 to Ruby and Robert “Bud” Hempel. The family moved to McLaughlin, where Mary graduated from high school in 1953.

Paul F. Schaeffer

Paul F. Schaeffer, 86, of West Burlington, IA, died April 8, 2020, at the Great River Klein Center in West Burlington.

Born October 1, 1933, in Mosher, SD, he was the son of Arvid and Bessie (Berry) Schaeffer. He grew up at Timber Lake and was a member of the TLHS Class of 1953.

On June 28, 1956, he married Edith Rose Winterberg of Timber Lake. She preceded him in death on June 3, 2016.

Paul was a U.S. Army veteran, serving from June 11, 1953 until April 29, 1955.

He was always a hard worker. He worked trimming trees in the Northwest after his service in the Army. He retired in 2003 from Sweetheart Bakery in Burlington, IA, where he had worked as a baker and later did custodial work.

Horace “Guy” Gilbert

Private family services for Horace “Guy” Gilbert, 82, of Promise will be at Kesling Funeral Chapel in Mobridge. Burial will be in the Ascension Episcopal Cemetery at Blackfoot under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge.

Guy passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2020, at Monument Health in Rapid City.

Horace Guy Gilbert was born August 29, 1937 on Swan Creek in Dewey County to William and Ethel Thompson Gilbert.

He attended Promise Day School, Wakpala School and Cheyenne Agency, where he graduated from high school.

Adolph H. Beer

Adolph H. Beer

Adolph Herman Beer was born on December 13, 1930 to Mary (Boeding) and Fred Beer. His early years were spent at the home place where he survived his first nights in the warmth of the family’s kitchen stove. He completed country school through the 8th grade after which he stayed home to help on his family’s farm and care for his brother, LeRoy, when polio struck. He continued to assist with his brother’s care for decades, which provided great joy and lead into a life of service, kindness and compassion.

Adolph volunteered to join the US Army in September of 1955 and served until he was honorably discharged in June of 1957. Upon returning to South Dakota, he took a job with the state highway department and continued to farm and ranch.

Faye Condon, 76, of Eagle Butte passed away Friday, March 20, 2020 at Sanford Medical Center in Bismarck, ND.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m., Friday, April 3 at the Eagle Butte Cemetery with Luce Funeral Chapel of Eagle Butte in charge of arrangements.
