Here’s a prayer to those keeping our dreams alive
And to those who don’t listen and don’t care
And to those who failed to see in us
What we had to prove to them was always there
A prayer to those who kept their eye on us
And made sure that we got it right
For those who made us do the difficult work
So we’d be well prepared to fight
To those who showed us how to pray
When our world was coming to an end
And convinced us to get right back up
And rebuild our lives again
Here’s a prayer for those we’ve lost sight of
And to whom we no longer talk
And to those who took a detour
From the path that we choose to walk
Here’s a prayer to those who live their lives
With different values than we do
And a prayer that we will understand
How our God loves them too
Here’s to those whose memories
And madness made us cry
And to those that we once set aside
Without telling them why
A prayer for those whom we once wronged
And regret it still today
And to those who wronged us equally
So we can forgive and walk away
A prayer for the loves that we have lost
And for the love that held on fast
A prayer for those we failed to help
When they stumbled on our path
A prayer for those who have passed on
Who once brightened our day
For long lost friends back in the past
And those still by our side today
Here’s a prayer for those who feel the pain
Of life lived so well and so long
That most of those who knew them well
Are now nearly all gone Here’s a prayer for those who wished to be
Husbands, dads, mothers and wives But whom
God himself had other plans
For what they would contribute with their lives
And for those who sit alone at home
When they wish someone was there
And for those who are sick or at their end
And whose cupboards and shelves are bare
There are many for whom we can choose to pray
Almost anyone you can think of
Sending a prayer to someone today
Can be the greatest expression of love
Pray for those around you
And for those you hold most dear
A prayer sent out at Christmastime
Could be the best gift of the year
