I woke this morning from a bad dream.
In my dream, a person was stuck,
lodged, upside-down in a long shaft
at the bottom of a well
and couldn’t breathe.
I didn’t know where this dream came from.
There was nothing on the news and
no one I know has ever been in this situation.
Then it occurred to me that this
could represent any of us when we
get into a bad situation from which we cannot extricate ourselves.
