I am out walking the dogs at dusk. To my left, the western horizon is a-light with yellow and orange and red streaks. On my right, the eastern horizon is so blue it looks like an azure sea of moving water, and the grass swaying below it is yellow as lemon custard.

Whew! Another very cold week out here on the prairie. With night time temperatures in the negative numbers, and daytime temperatures that weren’t much higher (not to mention the half foot of snow on the ground and the gale force winds) it may not technically be winter, but folks, IT’S WINTER.

Gratitude for Grandparents

A three-pound baby entered the world in recent days. This precious child was born after his Mom spent seven weeks in the hospital on bedrest. At home, Dad and two siblings were working, going to school, and worrying.
