The Timber Lake Panthers swept the 400, 800 and 1600 meter relays enroute to a third place overall finish on the boys side at the Sully Buttes JV/MS Early Bird Track Meet last Tuesday, April 9, in Onida.

First place finishes by speedster Gracen Hansen, Curtis Connor and the 4x200 relay team lifted the Timber Lake Panthers boys to third place overall at the Mobridge-Pollock Early Bird Track Meet last Thursday, April 4.

Jessup Pederson was the top pointgetter for the Dupree Tiger boys track team last Thursday, March 28, earning two top five finishes at the Dewey Donat Track Classic held at Northern State University in Aberdeen Pederson, a senior, captured second place in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:04.18 and was third in the 200 meter run with a time of 24.73. Other top 10 finishes for the Tiger boys included junior Brayden Terveen placing sixth in the 400 meter run with a time of 58.12 and sophomore Tayshaun Cudmore earning seventh in the 1600 meter run by finishing in 5:09.80 and ninth in the 800 meter run by posting a time of 2:19.37.

Three Faith cowboys - Traylin Martin, Cole Elshere and Kash Deal - closed out the month of March in a big way as all three claimed saddle bronc riding championships at major events. Leading the way was young Traylin Martin, who overcame a series of equipment failures over the past few weeks to blast through the championship round for top honors.

The 2023-24 All-Little Moreau Conference teams for boys and girls basketball were announced Monday, March 25, with four players from Timber Lake earning second team honors while another garnered honorable mention.

Paizley Holmes’ fourth place finish in the Girls Bantam 47 division was the best of the weekend for Dupree as she lost the consolation final by pin to Kinsley Ballert of Lead-Deadwood.
