Arguably one of the most productive K-9 officers in the state over the past decade was put down on Monday after a brief bout with cancer. Taz, K-9 partner to Corson County Sheriff ’s Office Sgt. Mike Varilek, passed away at the age of 12 after serving Corson County and the surrounding area for almost 11 years. At the time of his passing, he was the oldest K-9 on active duty within the state. …
