Corson Co. Fair set for Aug. 8-9 in McIntosh

The 2020 Corson County Fair will be held Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 8-9, but with a few modifications due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Things actually kick off on Friday, Aug. 7, for 4-H members who display small animals. The small animal show will begin at 8 a.m, and is closed to the public.

A full day of events is slated on Saturday, Aug. 8, beginning with the 4-H livestock show at 8 a.m., which is closed to the public. The fair itself opens at 1 p.m. and events include the Blow & Go Livestock Invitation Jackpot Show, a cookie baking contest, the Livestock Premium Sale & Cookie Auction, membership supper, ranch rodeo and more. The beer garden opens at 3:30 p.m. and a DJ will play in the arena following the rodeo.

On Sunday, Aug. 9, church services will be at the Cowboy Chapel at the fairgrounds at 8 a.m. Horse Play Day, turtle races and kids games highlight the day.

The public is asked to practice social distancing and common sense hygiene practices. Hand sanitizer and cleaning stations will be provided.
