Governor Larry Rhoden has recognized September 19, 2026, as Prisoner of War/Missing in Action (POW/ MIA) Recognition Day in South Dakota, honoring America’s former prisoners of war and remembering those who remain missing in action.
South Dakota continues to honor 349 service members who remain unaccounted for: six from the Vietnam War, 33 from the Korean War, and 308 from World War II.
