Laundreaux family artifacts on display at Timber Lake Museum
The Laundreaux family artifacts were delivered to the Timber Lake & Area Museum by (L-R) Donna Kersten, Rita Farlee, Susan Nelson and Jerry Farlee. Donna and Susan are daughters of Mary Acker Larson.
Janet Lawrence Keckler and Faye Lawrence Kraft arranged the exhibit of Laundreaux family artifacts. They are great-granddaughters of Mollie and Alex Laundreaux.
For many years Mary Acker Larson (Eagle Butte Class of 1942) was the custodian and caretaker of the family artifacts she and her sister, Peggy Jane Acker Helm, received from their father, George Thomas Acker, in 1976.
According to the wishes of Mary and Peggy and their children, the collection is now on temporary loan to the Timber Lake & Area Museum. The artifacts date back to Philomena Laundr…
