On August 11, the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe held its 2026 primary election to determine candidates for the November 3 general election.
Incumbent Ryman LeBeau, with 851 votes, and Kenita Counting, with 462, were the top two vote-getters for chairman and will be on the November ballot. They were followed by Manny Iron Hawk with 387 votes and Derek Bartlett with 68.
