The first Dewey County Fair was a big success. For four years, beginning with 1911, Timber Lake had held an annual birthday celebration to commemorate the selling of the lots on August 15,16,17 in 1910. In 1915 it was decided to discontinue the annual celebration proper and have a regular county fair.
