Voters in McLaughlin last week rejected an initiated measure that would have banned the sale of alcohol within the city limits.
In the April 13 vote, 80 ballots were cast against the measure and 47 were cast in favor of it. Had it passed, the measure would have prevented the city from selling alcohol at the municipally-owned liquor store and issuing alcohol licenses.
