Unofficial results from the July 18 Special General Election of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe had Ziebach County Sheriff Gary Cudmore defeating Steve Moran for the District 1 seat on the CRST Tribal Council. by just one vote, 131-130.
However, after votes were canvassed on Monday, July 24, by the CRST Election Board, Moran was awarded the seat by an eight vote margin, 145-137.
