Fast hands, fast feet and some precision shooting was all it took for the Timber Lake Panthers to run-andgun their way past the Herreid-Selby Area (HSA) Wolverines 56-46 in boys hoops action Monday, Dec. 19.

The Panthers, 2-0, will meet North Central in Eureka on Thursday, Dec. 29, and travel to Faith Thursday, Jan. 5.

Timber Lake set the tempo of the game from the opening tip, scoring eight first quarter points off the fastbreak and getting two big 3-pointers from junior Elijah Brewer to open a 16-8 first quarter advantage. A 19-8 run in the second frame put the Panthers on top 35-16 at the intermission.

HSA trailed 45-27 heading into the final frame and was able to trim the deficit to 10 points, but was unable to complete a comeback.

Junior Tristan Dupris paced the Timber Lake attack with 12 points, including six in the fourth quarter. Kyler Bollinger dropped 10 points while Brewer and Gracen Hansen added nine each. Brady Sandquist and Aidan Rough Surface contributed six points apiece and Kody Keller and Gavin Farlee scored two points each. The Panthers converted 4-of-8 free throw attempts.

Brenden Begeman poured in 16 to lead HSA while Troy Hettick and Trevor Gill added 13 points apiece. The Wolverines shot 4-for-10 at the gift stripe.
